In my early days as an author, children’s book festivals were few and far between. But in recent years, they’ve been multiplying like weeds. (In my garden, that’s saying a lot!) They’re almost always superbly organized.
Wherever you live, there may well be one near you. For a child—or a child at heart—these festivals are pure magic. There’s the chance to meet dozens of beloved authors and illustrators, and maybe even to hear them read from recent work; there’s the possibility of discovering a new favorite book; there are stickers and bookmarks and other fun doodads to pick up; and there’s the thrill of getting up close and personal with a larger than life book character. Check out my fall schedule in the Events tab of this site, and I’ll see you at the fair!
