Knights and Dragons

My newest picture book is The Eight Knights of Hanukkah, with glorious illustrations by Galia Bernstein. It's a medieval Hanukkah tale, complete with knights, dragons, and "deeds of stupendous bravery and awesome kindness." The story is full of derring-do and silly knight-speak. But that's not all, kind sirs and fair ladies. It also carries the message that each of us has the ability to shine some light into the world, to make it better and brighter. Your knightly deed doesn't have to be anything as attention-grabbing as slaying a dragon. Simple kindnesses, like taking care of a sick neighbor, or helping out at dinnertime, or even wearing a mask to protect the people around you--those are every bit as spectacular. Let's maketh the world a kinder place.
